How to Obtain a Berth?
New Process for Obtaining a Kayak Berth:
The Recreation Office has changed the process for distributing Kayak Storage Berths at Dealy Field. Instead of a random lottery, this year the city’s 112 Kayak Berths will be distributed on a “first-come-first-served” basis.
To obtain a 2025 Kayak Berth, property owners and year-round residents can sign-up on the Recreation Office’s “Rec Desk” web page, where they must submit a digital photo of their tax bill and submit payment of a $75 rental fee for the use of a berth. PLEASE NOTE: Year-round residents who are not property owners are asked to contact the Recreation Office at 609-263-0050 prior to March 1 for alternate instructions.
The distribution of 2025 Kayak Berths will begin on Saturday, March 1, at 9:00 AM, at which time the Recreation Office’s Rec Desk “Kayak Rack” page will be activated. Please use this link to access Sea Isle’s Rec Desk page: https://seaislerec.recdesk.com/. The Kayak Rack page will stay active on Rec Desk until all 112 berths are assigned and a 50-person numerical waiting list is created. The waiting list (which will also be on a first-come-first-served basis) will be used in the event a Kayak Berth unexpectedly becomes available during the summer season.
Those without a Rec Desk account are encouraged to create an account prior to March 1, to be prepared when the registration process begins. If you need assistance while creating a Rec Desk account, please phone the Recreation Office during normal business hours at 609-263-0050. No fee is required to create a Rec Desk account.
The digital photo of your tax bill and the $75 rental fee (paid by credit card) must be submitted simultaneously via Rec Desk to secure a Kayak Berth for the 2025 season. Once the $75 rental fee is submitted, no refunds will be issued. Also, no one can “reserve” a berth with the intention of paying for it later.
Only Sea Isle City property owners and year-round residents are eligible to rent a Kayak Berth at Dealy Field; and only one berth will be awarded per household.
Each kayak that is stored at the Dealy Field Kayak Racks is required to have a numbered Kayak ID Tag, which corresponds with the number of that kayak’s berth. ID Tags will be distributed (in-person only) at the Dealy Field Recreation Office starting May 1. Information about obtaining a Kayak ID Tag will be emailed to each person who secures a 2025 berth. .
Rules and Regulations for Sea Isle City’s Kayak Storage Rack Facility:
Kayak Storage Berths will be awarded only to Sea Isle City property owners and year-round Sea Isle City residents only.
Only one berth will be awarded per property each year.
No kayaks over 100 pounds are permitted.
Only one (1) kayak is permitted in a berth (racks are not designed for more than one kayak per berth).
All kayaks must be stored upside-down in berths to avoid filling with water.
Each berth is numbered “1 thru 112” and each registered kayak will be given an Identification Tag with the number of its designated berth. The tag is to be mounted on the end of the kayak using that berth, with that end facing outward when stored on the berth.
The owner of the kayak must provide his/her own locking system to secure their kayak to the storage rack FRAME.
Kayaks are only to be stored at assigned berths only. Kayaks or other equipment that are locked to the fence or stored in any other public areas will be removed and impounded by the City.
Only kayaks are to be stored at the kayak storage berths (no paddle boards or other water craft are permitted)
