Community Center (Opening Soon)
Important Information About Sea Isle City’s Community Center
Community Center Amenities:
Sea Isle City’s new Community Center is located at 4500 Central Avenue (between 45th & 46th Streets and Central Avenue & Park Road).
The 44,000 square foot Community Center has free parking in the outdoor lot (on the Central Avenue side of the building) as well as free parking in the garage under the building. There will be no overnight parking at any time in the outdoor parking lot or in the garage; and the garage entrance/exit gates will be shut and locked whenever the Community Center is closed.
The Main Level of the Community Center includes a large Gymnasium, which features an NBA-size basketball court, six basketball nets around the gym’s perimeter, bleachers, and a retractable curtain that can divide the gym floor into two separate spaces. In addition to the basketball court, the gym floor is also striped for pickleball (3 courts) and volleyball (1 court). Additionally, portable ping-pong tables will be available during scheduled Ping Pong Sessions in the gym.
The Main Level also has a large “Community Meeting Room” with a stage and a modern kitchen; a “Fitness Classroom” where a variety of exercise classes will be led by certified instructors; an “Arts & Crafts Room” that will be used for instructional classes and special activities; a “Quiet Room” where people can read books, construct jigsaw puzzles, utilize sensory items and relax in a calming atmosphere; and a spacious Atrium Lobby with plenty of seating. There is also an Outside Patio on the main level, which is accessible only from the lobby.
The Upper Level features a “General Meeting Room” for civic meetings, seminars and other gatherings; an Elevated Walking / Running Track; and a selection of Exercise Equipment adjacent to the walking / running track (including two stationary bicycles, two rowing machines, two elliptical machines, kettle bells and hand weights). The Upper Level also has a Golf Simulator Room, a “Multi Ball” Game Room and the Sea Isle City Board of Education Office.
Fees and Use of the Building:
Please Note: The fees that are mentioned below were Introduced with First Reading via ordinance # 1730 by City Council on December 23, but they will not become official unless and until they are adopted by City Council during the ordinance’s Second Reading on January 27, 2026.
“General Use” of Sea Isle City’s Community Center includes access to “Open Gym” sessions, scheduled adult basketball and volleyball sessions, use of the walking / running track, use of the exercise equipment adjacent to the walking / running track, use of the Quiet Room, and access to any free community activities, events, civic meetings, or advertised public meetings that take place in the building.
General Use of the Community Center is free for all children up to age 17.
General Use of the Community Center is free for Sea Isle City Property Owners and Year-Round Residents: There is no fee for Property Owners and Year-Round Residents for General Use of the Community Center every day the facility is open.
A Property Owner is defined as someone who owns a property in Sea Isle City, be it your main home, or a second home that you utilize on a part time basis and/or rent to others. A Property Owner is also someone who owns a commercial property in Sea Isle City. This includes spouses and children under age 18.
A Year-Round Resident is anyone who lives in Sea Isle City 12 months a year in a home that is considered their main domicile, which can be a rental property owned by another person/landlord.
Fees are required for General Use of the Community Center for Non-Property Owners and Non-Year-Round Residents: $5 per day per person; $40 per month per person; and $120 per year per person.
A Non-Property Owner is defined as someone who does not own a property (residential or commercial) in Sea Isle City.
A Non-Year-Round Resident is someone whose main, year-round domicile is not in Sea Isle City. Please Note: Summer or seasonal renters are not considered year-round residents, and therefore they must pay a fee for General Use of the Community Center.
Pickleball Fees: There is now a fee to play pickleball in Sea Isle City (on specific days and times). The Pickleball Fee is $5 per one-day use, per person; $100 per year per person for year-round Sea Isle City residents or Sea Isle City property owners; and $150 per year per person for non-residents and non-property owners. This fee affords players access to both indoor and outdoor courts.
Pickleball sessions will take place inside the Community Center’s gym and require fees from November 1 thru March 31 (with varying times for different skill levels). Fees will also be required at Sea Isle City’s existing outdoor pickleball courts (on 42nd Place and West Jersey Avenue) from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day daily from 8:00 AM to 12 noon. Please Note: There is no fee to use Sea Isle City’s outdoor pickleball courts after 12 noon from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day – or any other day of the year.
Players who choose to pay the annual fee to play pickleball will be given a “Pickleball Tag” (which is similar in appearance to a Beach Tag). Players can pay for their Pickleball Tags via the Recreation Office’s online Rec Desk page (please see the “Membership Card” section below for more info about Rec Desk). Once the annual fee is paid, players can obtain their Pickleball Tags in person at the Community Center’s front desk. The Pickleball Tag will give that player access to the pickleball courts whenever fees are required. Please Note: Those who choose to play pickleball by paying the daily rate of $5 per day can simply pay the recreation attendant when they enter the courts during days that require fees.
Sea Isle’s existing outdoor Pickleball courts will continue to use the existing “skill level” system currently in place (Advanced and Intermediate players use the 42nd Place Marina Courts; and Beginners and Families use the West Jersey Courts). Pickleball Fees do not guarantee access to any specific pickleball court or facility. Use of any pickleball court or facility shall be directed by Recreation personnel and policy, depending on the time of year.
Golf Simulator: The fee to use the Community Center’s Golf Simulator is $55 per hour per group during non-peak times with maximum groups of up to four (4) people; and $75 per hour per group during peak times with maximum groups of up to four (4) people. “Peak Times” are Monday through Friday, from 5:00 p.m. until closing, and all day on Saturday and Sunday.
Parents Night Out: Hosted by the Sea Isle City Recreation Office, Parents Night Out will take place periodically throughout the year, offering activities and adult supervision of children for a fee: $20 per child per session and $10 for each additional sibling within a family per session. Location, frequency, time, duration, and activities shall be directed by Recreation personnel and policy.
Additional Fees: Some programs and activities, including specific fitness classes and most events hosted by contracted vendors, will require additional fees. Sit-Fit-Seniors classes will remain free and be considered “General Use” of the Community Center, as will the Multi-Ball Room. Sea Isle City Civic Organizations (such as AARP Chapter 710, the Sea Isle City Garden Club, and the Sea Isle City Women’s Civic Club) will have free use of the Community Center’s meeting rooms as they always have.
Fitness Classes Hosted by the Recreation Office: The cost structure for Total Body Fitness classes (and similar fitness classes hosted by our Recreation Staff) has changed slightly. The traditional “punch card system” will no longer be used. Individual classes will continue to cost $5 per class per person, however participants can now alternatively purchase a monthly pass for $40 per person per month.
Membership:
Everyone (other than children under age 18) who enters the Community Center will need to display a Community Center Membership Card upon entering the building, regardless of residency or property ownership – that includes when using the Golf Simulator, playing Pickleball or participating in any other event that requires a separate fee.
Community Center Membership Card:
Membership Cards will be required for everyone (age 18 and older) who wants to utilize this facility in any way (Property Owners, Year-Round-Residents, Non-Property Owners and Non-Year-Round Residents alike).
